I can’t stand being asked why for subjective questions like “why don’t you like <blank>.” For example:
Person: Why don’t you like weed?
Me: Becuase I don’t
Person: But why don’t you like it, though?
Me: Because I don’t?! Does it matter? I don’t! It smells. I don’t like potheads! I don’t like smoke in my throat. I don’t want to feel high right now.
Person: Why don’t you like potheads?
me: Errrrr
————
Why don’t you like Heavy Metal?
Why don’t you like Onions?
Why don’t you like <blank> movie?
Why does that annoy you?
Why does being asked why you don’t like things annoy you? (meta)
I always indicate that that thing is not bad. It’s just that that thing is not pleasing to me. IT’S SUBJECTIVE. My answer doesn’t need to be any deeper then “I don’t” You shouldn’t be asking that question. What answer are you expecting? “It’s just when I listen to reggae I always end up lighting something on fire and cutting off one of my toes” IT DOESN’T MATTER. (three dates recently, where i felt like the entire conversation was not about what I like but why I don’t like things. It’s fucking stupid)
This annoys me more then the question-statement : “You haven’t seen/heard of/ listened to/ know about <Blank>!?!?! How could you have never seen/heard of/ listened to/ know about <Blank>!?!?!
*other notable annoyances- the statement “you’re too young…you’re so young…”
** Being treated like a kicked puppy because I’m naive about something.
